Same logic here

I think diesel is superior anyway.

But this is a 320D. 325D is too heavy :/

Taxes go on weight and I really couldn't justify it. I like cars but it stays just a thing on four wheels :x

I opted for the 2.5l as it's the straight 6 and doesnt have the "swirl flaps" the 2.0l diesel engines have.

Don't know if you're aware about the potential problems with swirl flaps on the older 2.0l engines and them sometimes falling off and getting sucked into the engine ;( bad bad news for the engine.

Yes I am aware of the swirl flap thing. But every car has his problems and I think its exaggerated.

But, I especially think that after I bought the car to keep me think positive

Nah there are driving thousands without a problem, must have to do something with having 'bad luck'. But again, every car has his set of potential problems, if you focus on that you can't buy any car anymore :fp:

You're right, it is a small percentage that have actually failed, but I couldn't afford to take the chance :D

I drive 30,000+ miles per year and can't afford to have my car off the road let alone the cost of an engine rebuild or whole new engine. Besides, the striaght 6 engine is smoother and i dont have to rev it as hard.

It's a necessary medicine when you drive a "Renault Scenic" every business day lol

A few pics of my previous cars are also here (sorry, text is in french but pictures are explicit) : http://supervroum.free.fr/Joseph_BERNARD.html

Note that Porsche aren't mine, just belong to the driving school (such as Peugeot 505 & 206).

Company car... not much choice (2 kids and low Co2 and... cheap :coke: ).

However, impressive brakes and funny chassis, even if it tends to understeer at high speed (easiest to overtake bmw ( ) on highway exits... but only when it's real wet :thumb: )

Drive a shoddy Audi A3 FSI - nothing special except it handles nice, but just no guts int he 1.6 petrol
But I am shopping for a new car and going to look at a Nissan Pulsar 208BHP this week :D

My real baby however:
'97 Suzuki Bandit 600 with some mods - too many to list, but the Beowulf baffleless exhaust just makes such a sweet purr, growl and almighty howl! O:)
